Our second trip to the Bahai Principe was yet another great shoot. Met up with Kelly and her Maid of Honor, Melissa, at the Spa where we spent a couple hours on hair and make up. These two gals were such a pleasure to spend the day with! Time flies by so fast when we’re in the company of some great personalities!
The ceremony was on the beach of Bahai Principe Akumal. That side of the resort and ceremony location is the perfect spot for a wedding. It is away from the speedo crowd. There isn’t really anyone that needs to walk by that area because there really isn’t anything past it. Come to think of it, the location my sister was married (Tulum Gazebo) was also away from the beaten trail. This resort does a great job keeping the ceremonies private.
Kelly and Logan were actually referred to us by the last wedding couple that we shot at the Bahai Principe resort. Even though they had almost identical plans for the big day, the resort is so beautiful that we had a ton of great new spots to shoot their newlywed images.
On a more unfortunate note, we talked to Eugenia, the wedding coordinator there, and she let us know that the Bahai has signed some kind of agreement with just one photography company. Unless you had your photographer booked already (and after June) they are “forcing” you to use the photographer they supply and will not allow external photographers to attend your wedding.
Anyway, here are some of our favorite shots. Enjoy!

Yet another first for us, the Grand Coco Bay Resort. This resort is located directly in Playa Del Carmen, only a 5 minute drive from our home in Playacar. It is amongst a residential area and apparently very close to a beach popular for locals kite boarding. Grand Coco bay is a very small resort with only about 200 rooms, which I still believe is the perfect size for a wedding group! After a short jaunt through the resort and ceremony site we met up with the beautiful bride, Lindsay.
Lindsay and Neil were actually referred to us by another wedding couple that we spent the day with back in April of last year. It’s amazing how small this world is! We keep running into friends of friends at our Canadian weddings. And not the mention the occassional celebrity look alike!
Anyway, Lindsay and Neils wedding seemed to be very well organized and the day flew by without any issues. From what I hear Lindsay is the organization queen who made it all happen! Great meeting you guys! Enjoy the rest of your trip!
