Here are a couple of our favorite images after capturing the wedding of  Marissa & Shawn a couple of weeks ago in the Mayan Riviera. They had perfect weather for their wedding and we loved the added touch of the horse drawn carriage! We met up again with them a couple days later to shoot their Trash the Dress in Playa del Carmen.  Once again, the weather gods smiled down on us and gave us the perfect Mexican sunset that we all love! Those sunset images pretty much came straight out of the camera with the bright yellow and orange colors you see captured. Nature is sometimes so surreal and beautiful!

We were invited to the photograph the wedding of Nick & Colleen last week at the Grand Sunset Princess in the Mayan Riviera! When I met Nick, he walked into the room and for some reason thought he might have gotten the wrong room and was in the middle of a boudoir shoot! haha Very funny! I asked him if he wanted to strip down but he declined. The wedding was at the beach gazebo. The skies were blue, beach was hot and the couple was very much in love! They had written their own vows and I think everybody was touched. The evening festivities went of without a hitch and we really enjoy the entrance of the wedding party! There were 7 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen to escort them down. Also included were the parents of the bride and groom and every entrance had its own music for the boardwalk and beach entrance. It was very entertaining.
We love meeting you, Nick & Colleen, and hope you guys keep in touch!

I am going to post quick reviews of all the resorts we have attended in the past, as well as after each wedding we shoot in the future.  Destination brides, please feel free to comment on the post with your experiences as well.  Our future brides can benefit from any insight you may have.  Brides helping brides!!  Thank you for your input!

Although we had traveled to the Mayan Riviera several times, January was our first destination wedding.  The resort we stayed at and captured the wedding/TTD was located in Puerto Aventuras.  It’s a small gated community between Playa Del Carmen and Tulum.  Features a golf course, marina, dolphins, homes, condos and of course a few Resorts.  The Catalonia Yucatan/Riviera Maya is where we first discovered our love of the smaller resorts.  It is two resorts in one but still a very nice size where you will run into family or friends from your group wherever you go.  There is one wedding location for both the Catalonia and Rivera Maya.  They set up a small tent and chairs on the north end of the Catalonia beach. It is somewhat private as there is a security guard that will clear out the area before hand and keep people away during your ceremony. The wedding ceremony was quite nice, complete with champagne afterward to celebrate the newly weds!

Angie and Chad were a fantastic couple to work with!  We had alot of fun with them on the wedding day as well as a Trash the Dress session a couple days later.  Chads favorite song “Warm it up Chris” by Kris Cross was surely featured in their wedding DVD slideshow.  Not really, but it would have been funny!!
